Spring & Summer Growth in Cincinnati
As Spring comes to an end and Summer is in full swing, we’re thinking about some of our exciting new projects across the Greater Cincinnati region, and of course, keeping cool at our favorite splash pads and parks.
The construction industry continues to grow and we’ve had an abundance of collaborative projects, from education to commercial and retail, here are some updates on what we’re building in Cincinnati.
Construction Management: Restoring the Original Xavier University Armory Building

We’re making great progress on a full restoration of the original XU Armory building. Built and dedicated in 1948, this building is home to the University’s ROTC program. The Armory building also provides a practice and meeting area for UC clubs and athletics. Universal Contracting is proud to continue to be a part of the Xavier legacy. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!
Pre-Construction Services: Duke Brecon 1

Universal Contracting is providing preconstruction services for Duke Energy at their Brecon 1 facility. We’re proud to partner with Duke again as they continue to grow their operations.
Public Works: The Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame

We are excited to team up with Hamilton County to construct the Black Music Walk of Fame along the very familiar, Cincinnati Banks.
General Trades: UC Calhoun

We are pouring concrete for the Market Pointe addition. This project is a renovation to the 17-floor dormitory for UC students.
General Trades: Clifton Court Hall

In collaboration with Messer, we are the General Trades contractor for the new 5-story education facility at the University of Cincinnati, which includes offices, labs, classrooms, and an auditorium. Scope includes masonry, doors, frames, hardware, glazed Infinium wall systems, operable partitions, decorative railings, architectural woodwork and casework, roller window shades, and temporary enclosure requirements.

General Trades: Medpace 200 Building

In collaboration with Skanska, we are the General Trades Contractor for the conversion of 3 floors of office space to lab space and renovation of 3 existing labs. Scope includes demo, doors, frames, hardware, painting, welded vinyl flooring, glazing, automatic entrances, structural steel, and concrete.
Did you know we also helped with the Medpace 400 building? It required wrapping 7 stories in plastic to keep dry in winter,

Retail: PNC Bank ADA Facilities
Universal is always up for the challenge when renovating projects in the retail market for our clients. Communicating our plan to the Owner and customers on a daily basis is what makes these projects a success. The customer always comes first!
Our work includes new sidewalks/curbs, aluminum railings, concrete handicap parking spots, and signage to better assist PNC’s physically challenged customers’ needs at three Dayton locations.
