Looking Back and Looking Forward
We’ve had an outstanding year and as we look ahead to 2023, it is only fitting to commemorate some of our prized long-term partnerships in the Greater Cincinnati community. One such partnership is with Xavier University, with whom we’ve had a relationship for over 60 years and there isn’t much on campus that we haven’t somehow had a hand in!
While Universal Contracting Corporation proudly celebrates over 60 years of building Cincinnati, we are equally honored to work with institutions that have such a rich history so deeply woven into the fabric of our community as Xavier, established in 1919.

We’ve enjoyed many projects on the historic Xavier University campus, and while it would be hard to include them all on a single image and exhaustive to list them all here, we’re honored to be a part of this testament to higher education in Cincinnati.
We’re making great progress on a full restoration of the original XU Armory building. Built and dedicated in 1948, this building is home to the University’s ROTC program. The Armory building also provides a practice and meeting area for UC clubs and athletics. Universal Contracting is proud to continue to be a part of the Xavier legacy. Recently Completed Projects at Xavier University
Xavier Gallagher Food Court
The renovation of the Gallagher Food Court entailed a complete demolition and new construction of cooking, back-of-house, point-of-sales, and dining areas.
Xavier University Apartments
This renovation project included new kitchens, sleeping quarters, corridor revitalization, window replacement, and MEP upgrades.
Xavier Armory
We completed a full restoration of the original XU Armory building, home to the University’s ROTC program and a practice and meeting area for clubs and athletics.
Elet Hall
Universal was pleased to be a part of Xavier’s most recent renovation to Elet Hall, performing various classroom upgrades, corridor upgrades, exterior façade restoration, and complete mechanical and electrical upgrades.
In-Progress: The Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame
We are proud to serve as the General Contractor for this important project honoring influential local and national black musicians with roots in Cincinnati. The Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame held its Induction and Dedication ceremony in July at the Andrew Brady Music Center. Don’t miss this shining star next time you’re at The Banks!

Project Highlight: Mercy Anderson Emergency Department
Universal Contracting served as the concrete contractor for the new Emergency Department at Mercy Anderson Hospital. This work relocated the new helipad right next to the entrance to the Emergency Department. Universal formed, placed, and finished the new circular concrete retaining wall, associated concrete stairs, walks, and helipad.

Project Complete: PNC Bank Kettering
We are pleased to have recently completed another project with PNC Bank at their Kettering location!
Our work included new sidewalks/curbs, aluminum railings, concrete handicap parking spots, and signage to better assist PNC’s physically challenged customers’ needs.
As construction progressed, we remained committed to ensuring that all customers had full access to their bank during the construction period.
