Universal Contracting served as the concrete contractor for the new Emergency Department at Mercy Anderson Hospital, supporting the expansion and site improvement work associated with the hospital’s emergency services. The scope included the relocation of the new helipad adjacent to the emergency department entrance, enhancing ambulance and air transport access.
Under the Construction Manager, Skanska, Universal formed, placed, and finished all concrete elements of the work. This included the construction of a circular concrete retaining wall, related concrete stairs, walks, and the new helipad. Work on the retaining wall took place in April, with the walks, stairs, entrances, and helipad completed in June and July.
