Description:
The FDA Forensic Chemistry Center project consists of a comprehensive interior and exterior renovation of the existing facility. Universal Contracting is delivering a wide-ranging scope of work to support the specialized op-erational and security requirements of a federal laboratory environment.
The project scope includes:
- Division 1: General Requirements
- Division 2: Existing Conditions (Demolition)
- Division 3: Concrete
- Division 6: Wood, Plastics, and Composites – Blocking
- Division 7: Thermal and Moisture Protection
- Division 8: Openings, including operable walls, doors, and hardware
- Division 9: Finishes, including acoustical wall panels
- Division 10: Specialties, including toilet partitions, accessories, and corner guards
- Division 11: Equipment, including dock bumpers, scissor lift, and projection screens
- Division 12: Furnishings, including drapery tracks, drapery, and roller window shades
The project is expected to be completed by November 1, 2023. This renovation demonstrates Universal’s ability to execute complex work within secure federal facilities while adhering to strict access, documentation, and security protocols.
