Universal Contracting Corp. was entrusted with the General Trades package for the UC Indoor Practice Facility, an advanced athletic complex designed to provide year-round training opportunities. Our scope of work encompassed a wide array of installations and constructions, contributing to the functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal of the facility.
Scope of Work
General Trades Package
- Blocking & Waterproofing: Installed necessary blocking to support fixtures and applied waterproofing solutions to ensure durability and protection against moisture infiltration.
- FRP Installations: Set up Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) panels and doors for enhanced durability, hygiene, and low maintenance in high-traffic areas.
- Fire Caulking: Applied fire caulking to seal joints and seams, ensuring that the facility meets fire safety regulations.
- Overhead Coiling Doors & Glass Sectional Doors: Installed durable overhead coiling doors for secure and efficient access, alongside glass sectional doors that provide a modern aesthetic and functionality.
- Visual Display Boards: Mounted visual display boards for instructional use within the facility, aiding in team communications and strategy planning.
- Plastic Toilet Compartments & Shower Partitions: Installed robust plastic compartments and partitions in restrooms and shower areas, ensuring privacy and hygiene.
- Toilet Accessories & Fire Safety Installations: Fitted a range of toilet accessories, fire extinguishers, and cabinets to ensure the facility is well-equipped for everyday use and emergencies.
- Custom Casework: Designed and installed custom casework to meet the specific storage needs of the facility.
- Concrete-Faced Insulation Panels: Provided and installed concrete-faced insulation panels, adding both thermal efficiency and structural support.
- Window Shades: Installed window shades to control natural light and provide privacy within the facility.
- Interior Block Walls & Exterior Brickwork: Constructed durable interior block walls and exterior brick at the site entrance, enhancing both structural integrity and visual appeal.
- Doors & Hardware: Installed a comprehensive range of doors, including hollow metal, FRP, and wood doors, along with the necessary hardware to ensure functionality and security.
- Athletic Equipment: Supplied and installed various athletic equipment, including padding, field netting, and screens, to support the facility’s training activities.

- Cast-In-Place Concrete Pan Filler Stairs: Constructed cast-in-place concrete pan filler stairs, providing durable and safe access points within the facility.
- Field Perimeter and Infills: Completed field perimeter work and infill installations to prepare the facility for athletic use.
Unit Masonry Work
- Interior Block Walls & Exterior Brick Entrances: Carried out unit masonry work to build strong and aesthetically pleasing interior block walls and exterior brick entrances.
Specialty Door Installations
- Overhead Coiling Doors & Accordion Folding Fire Doors: Installed specialty doors to provide secure, accessible, and fire-safe entries throughout the facility.
Restroom & Fire Safety Features
- Plastic Toilet Compartments & Accessories: Installed plastic toilet compartments, along with necessary toilet accessories and fire safety equipment like extinguishers and cabinets, ensuring that the facility meets both functional and safety requirements.
Interior Custom Casework
- Designed and installed custom casework tailored to the specific needs of the practice facility, offering efficient storage and workspace solutions.
Door & Hardware Installation
- Hollow Metal, FRP, and Wood Doors: Installed a variety of door types along with the appropriate hardware, ensuring secure, durable, and functional access points throughout the facility.
Window Shade Installation
- Fitted window shades to regulate light and privacy, enhancing the comfort and functionality of the facility’s interior spaces.
Concrete-Faced Insulation Panels
- Installed concrete-faced insulation panels, combining thermal insulation with structural durability for enhanced energy efficiency and support.
Conclusion
