Description:
This project consisted of the construction of a new 1,450 SF crew room within an existing Duke Energy facility. Universal delivered the project while coordinating work inside an active operational environment, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing facility operations.The project scope included:
- Interior demolition
- CMU masonry walls
- Rough carpentry
- Fireproofing
- Drywall and paint finishes
- Miscellaneous structural steel supports
- Doors and hardware
- Finished concrete flooring
- Acoustical ceiling system
- New mechanical system with rooftop unit (RTU) upgrade
All new electrical systems, including lighting fixtures, fire suppression and sprinkler heads, fire alarm systems, electrical and data infrastructure, and integrated audiovisual systems
These improvements resulted in a functional, durable, and modern crew space designed to support daily operations and long-term facility needs. The completed crew room reflects Universal’s ability to execute high-quality interior construction within existing utility environments while maintaining safety, coordination, and performance standards.
